It is considered to be the hardest Quartz ( a 7 on the Mohs' Scale ) and is also considered to be the clearest Quartz in the world.These specimens are believed to be over 400 million years old. Genuine Herkimers are found only in upstate New York, in the Mohawk Valley Region. The specimens come in many different shapes and forms. They make great collector items and wonderful gifts.   This specimen has about 10-11 clear crystals on it. They are from 2mm up to 9mm in size. Most are small, but there is a nice side by side double on this piece. The double is an 8 & 9mm crystals. They are very clear with great termination points.  There is a little bit of color (rainbows ) in the 9mm. The druze is a brilliant , medium textured, light grey in color. This really shines & sparkles. A great specimen with good form & shape. A good flat bottom, so it sits nice and flat.  This piece weighs 93.7 grams ( 3.3 ounces ) and measures 65x 40x 35mm in size  $40.00
